Reviews and Testimonials

Tara McPhee, Nashville

“Dr. McGuire led training, professional development, and coaching to aspiring teachers as they transitioned into classroom instructors. I had the privilege to sit in on Dr. McGuire’s lectures and professional development sessions he offered as I watched individuals really transform by diving into identity work and how race, class, and intersectionality really impacts how one teaches and relates to students in the classroom. Through his leadership, these individuals really grew from doing hands-on work and reflection on how they identify with themselves and in relation to others. McGuire shared the importance of culturally relevant teaching, what that really means and looks like, the importance of inclusion and equitable access through instructional best practices, and the necessity of being a reflective teacher who is constantly striving to be a life-long learner. He is wonderful to work with– I would recommend him without a doubt, and know he will inspire positive change and impact with those that work with him”.

“I have seen Dr. McGuire’s expertise as it relates to building a supportive and restorative learning environment for students with high needs. Dr. McGuire would frequent my classroom to check in with a student who struggled with both behavioral and academic barriers. Through his resilience to help this student be successful, I saw quite an improvement in the student’s willingness to self reflect, manage his feelings, and communicate his needs. It’s been a pleasure to work with Dr. McGuire!”
